Right, why did I make this vid ? Cause of Daniel Bruhl. I think I first saw D.B in Goodbye Lenin ... I thought he was cute but .. heck not really my type. Years past by ... then Inglorious Bastards came out. DB was in it in military uniform. I went like " HOLY CRAP ! He's CUTE !!!!" yes ... the way I felt for Heino Ferch when I saw him in the movie "Berlin Airlift" but ... I'm not here about Heino ... his blog will come soon ! So, yes ... then I stared googling & IMDB-ing DB and his work and found he did a not so well known movie called "The Countess" granted the movie will never be mentioned in any award ceremonies, but man... oh man ... was DB awesomely adorkable in that movie. So I decided to make a tribute to DB using footage from The Countess. I wish I was more experimental with FCP... which I ought to be, but my main concern was producing a vid and getting the story across AND of course portraying DB cute as a button. C'mon ... he IS adorable ! He's the type you can bring home and show your mom & dad and they'll be smitten by him. So anyway .... at first I pondered about how I'm going to make a story using footage from The Countess, then it suddenly hit me ... it's a costume period movie ... and it is a love story ... why not play on that. So I did. The editing was simple, it was basically clear and simple cut from footage I want then just paste it according to the music. I did play a bit with the color ... I hope it's subtle enough and not too noticable ( IS this even a word ? hahah ... yes..yes ... one day I will publish my own dictionary )
The song ... now some might wonder why I chose this song.. well... honestly I pondered long and hard about the song I wanted to use, I specifically didn't want to use a 50's or 60's golden oldies song ... I wanted something more or less contemporary. Something upbeat and kinda happy-go-lucky song. Honestly I didn't really have to search long for the song. I kinda immediately thought of this song, I just didn't know who sang it or the name of the song, since I think The Counting Crows are no longer a group .... I may be wrong ... I'm just too lazy to google them while I"m writing this blog.
So hence ... a nice short music video for DB. Oh wait .. what ? the title ... ? what about it ? Oh .. why did I name the vid " The Reluctant Prince" ? well ... I guess I wanted it to be just a bit different than the normal "drool fest". I think it makes sense ... no ? then you haven't REALLY seen all my vids ! :)

The Knights Park Midnight Killer - Kingston University London

Ok ... first of all, let me assure you all that this video is a part of my fmp ( Final Major Project) for my university. It's the last project for year 1. I wanted to make it as real as possible, so I wrote a fictional history of the Knights Park serial killer. I even spread a rumor that the 4th floor illustration studio is haunted. To parents of future students who will be attending Kingston Uni next year ... or year after that ... do not be alarmed ! As far as I know, the 4th floor illustration studio is not haunted ! But then again... I don't believe in ghosts. Maybe that's why I haven't seen them ... YET ! I'm sure an old building such as Knights Park campus is full of skeletons ... it was to be condemned some odd 20 years ago ... but is wasn't. Ok, the first thing that comes to mind when I heard this was a scene from "The Shadow" when Shiwan Khan made everyone in the city believe that the Monolith Hotel was demolished. Why did I think of that particular scene ? I have no idea ... but my mind works in mysterious ways ... !
The final project was our first project using real professional actors. I based the KP serial killer's character on Ted Bundy. A nice good looking boy-next-door medical student.
But heck .. let me tell you about how sick human beings are ! After I presented my film in Uni... I posted the film on youtube... with the short background history of the KP Midnight Killer to make it look authentic... within 3 hours, 150 people have viewed my film. 5 days later 700 people have viewed my film. I mean ... it's crazy ... and awesome at the same time. ! Crazy that people still have this fetish about serial killers. Awesome cause heck ... it's my video !

* by the way ... I got a B for this project ! So not fair ... I think I deserve an A !*

Ok, this video was created in october of 2009. I had just moved to London ... starting uni, recovering from my chicken pox fiasco (July/August) .. YARP ! my folks tried to shield me from chicken pox when I was young ... and then 20+ odd years later KA-BLAAAAM .. one day I woke up with spots on my face ... the horror... the horror .. I mean, not only was I quarantined for 2 months ... my face had weird spots when I started university in september !
*Whooops ! Got side tracked a bit ! *
Well... now back to this video .. after watching 'Definitely, Maybe' I was utterly in love with Ryan Reynolds. He is not only awesome but can qualify as the epitome of Perfect Husband. If I have my own little dictionary this is how some words may read :

husband - Ryan Reynolds

*cough* * ahem* ... Unfortunately I don't have my own dictionary ... yet ! The main reason for the style of this video is basically a tribute and love and appreciation for a man who has been my rock through tough times. Whenever I am feeling less awesome ... he is there to pick me up ! He has always been there ! So Ryan ... This is video is for you. I would also like to think that all those loving looks Ryan gave in this vid are for me ... *sigh* I can dream !

The music ... well I think it's really fits the tribute. Granted it is a bit long, but hey ... it's all 6 minutes of Ryan Reynolds awesomeness ! ... When Ryan presents the ring in this vid ... don't you just want to yell " YES !!!" ?? I do .. ! hehe ...

Eric Northman - Why women want him & why men envy him ...

I remember when True Blood came out I totally refused to watch it, I thought "gah .. c'mon... I've seen Buffy & Angel .. the original vampire - human couple" My friends were into it ... my male friends couldn't stop talking about it, of course mainly cause it's got SO much sex in it. One day I woke up .. and thought "well.. 1 episode of True Blood won't hurt ... right ? " let's just say ... I finished all 2 seasons in 2.5 days ! BUT what made me blush and my knees weak is Alexander Skarsgard's portrayal of Eric Northman. Wow ! .. I mean .. WOW ! Tall, brooding handsome vampire ... not to mention total badass and looks so HOT in leather ... I mean.. WOW !...
I knew after the last episode of True Blood season 2 I needed to make a music video about Eric Northman. As usual, I went through tons of music until I decided to try Country & Western. Most C & W songs usually are about men who can't be tamed or wild cowboys ... it's just a matter of having the patience and listening to a bunch of them. Luckily I had the patience ... and I finally found the song. The first time I heard it, I knew it was meant for Eric Northman.
Eric Northman is the epitome of Vampire Boyfriend ! He's handsome, he's playful, commands fear and respect, very tall and he kicks ass ! What can I say ... I love Alexander Skarsgard ... he is a hunk ! *sigh*

You Belong With Me

So, this video is the FINAL video I made using Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 and also the Final video I posted on youtube for the year 2009 !. IT was December 31st, I didn't feel like partying and celebrating the new year with bunch of drunken college students... so I did the next best thing... I bought a bottle of champagne( yep ... the real one) and a HUGE box of party snacks which came with a party hat ! ... In my jammies, I started eating the party snacks while I edited this music vid. It took me about 8 hours to edit the whole sequence. At about 10pm I uploaded it onto youtube. At midnight ... I opened my bottle of Champagne and toasted to a good 2010 !

I would just like to start by saying how many of us single straight women went totally in shock when we found out that Ryan Reynolds married Scarjo ? I mean .. even shortening her name makes me almost unable to even want to put it in my blog ! So, in total response to that, I decided to make this music video. December last year I saw this drama starring Ryan Reynolds called "Fireflies in the Garden". It was a sweet simple drama, which will never win an Oscar for best movie or even best screenplay. But I got to see RyRy with a beard and looking as gorgeous as the heavenly sunlight .. ( too much ? ) ... ok .. ok... what can I say .. the man is HANDSOME ! Suddenly out of nowhere...a lightbulb went "blink" in my head ! I knew I had to make a mini movie ! Immediately knew which song I was going to use.. I had stumbled upon the song by Taylor Swift earlier that week, I could have started off with just the video, but I added the credits at the beginning helped make it look more movie-like.
May I just add, I miss Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 ! Final Cut Pro just doesn't have that certain .. je ne sais quoi...

AVP3 : The Ultimate Battle Trailer

This particular video is the most watched in my channel. So far, as of today ( 28/4/2010 ) it has gotten more than 31,000 views. I mean .. woo hoo ... ! Why did I make this video you might ask, well ... I love the Alien saga and the Predator movies. Combining them was close to orgasmic ... ( just for the record .. total orgasmic would be the Deadpool & Green Lantern movie out in 2011 ! ) .. anyway .. about AvP movies ... I mean the first movie was new .. it was incredible, I enjoyed it immensely except for the part where the 'humans' actually survived ? I literally went .. "HUH ?" and then proceeded to say " What the .. hell... !" yeah .. I know ! I couldn't believe it. ! Then AvP 2 came out .. the same thing happened. Two interstellar badass monsters battling for the survival of their species and yet again ... 'humans' became the HEROES ? Errr ... what ? yeah ! So, I decided to make a mock trailer using the footage of AvP2. I mean ... how cool would it be to just let the Xenomorphs fight the Predators and actually see WHICH species wins ? Heck ... I don't care if there's no dialogue in the movie .... I just want to see those two fight. !!! There is no reason why Humans need to interfere. It's like watching Jurassic park 3 where a 10 year old KID survived on an island full of flesh eating dinosaurs ... didn't we all go "What were they thinking ?" then didn't you "tsk-ed" at the end of the movie ? I know I did ! ...
This is one of the first videos I made using my old editing software Sony Vegas Pro 8.0. So, I think you'll notice the texts were simple and not properly aligned. Would it be too much to ask for AvP 3 : NO HUMANS ALLOWED !?!?!? Or at least kill off all the humans within the first 10 minutes of the movie ? Either way ... this video has gotten me some "hate" comments too ! eeek !

So yes .. what can I say, the title of this vid basically says it all doesn't it ? I mean, c'mon these men are totally swoon worthy. They are handsome, powerful and cheeky at times ... and total badasses ! I think I can speak for the majority of (straight) women when I say ... that these men REALLY know how to make a woman blush. Does it have any symbolic meaning to my personal life ? HMMMmmmmmm...... YES !. Would it be so much to ask, to have a man who looks so handsome,with abs to die for, knows how to fight with swords... a man with no fear to fall in love with me. ?? hmm ? What did Bonnie Tyler sing :

What Happens in San Francisco

Well ... in march of 2010 I got a chance to go to San Francisco on a field trip organized by my University. It was a 7 day trip which started with the sun shinning as soon as the plane landed. There were 97 students all together on this trip but heck ... me.. I am used to travelling alone, after the first day, I ditched all of them and went on solo missions ! I got a book on San Francisco ... and a 7 day public transport pass. !
I thought I had more footage of San Francisco, but I realized later when I got back that the only interesting footages were in Haight Ashbury. So I used some of the still pictures I took just to fill in the gap.
During playback, I noticed how my video cam captured sun flares which bounced off the hood of the cars and sunglasses. It was awesome. Immediately it hit me that I should make a 70's style music video. So I played around with color corrector, added a lot of purple cause somehow in my mind, whenever I think about pictures taken by my parents back in the 70's had a lot of purple in them. So hence ... I think I added a bit of magenta too. The song .. now that was a tough one, it took me 2 full days of going through songs after songs ... I didn't want to use the song 'San Francisco' by Scott Mackenzie cause it's too cliched ! The song is too widely used by other tourists who have visited San Francisco. I wanted something nostalgic, something different, something sentimental with a hint of romance in it .. like all my music vids.... so finally by accident I stumbled upon Nat King Cole. As soon as I heard this song, I knew I had found the perfect song for this music video. Well ... who knows, I hope one day in the future someone will stumble upon my vid and REALLY think it was taken back in the 70's.
What can I say ... my trip to San Francisco was a memorable one.

Heroes - Sylar's Personal Ad

Now... I know many of you are familiar with the tv show Heroes.. right ? And of course you all know Sylar! There are so many vids out there showing Sylar being all evil and such ... sure..sure.. we all know he's the 'bad guy' on Heroes, but IS HE really ? In my vid I wanted to portray Sylar as a regular guy. Since he is The most handsome serial killer in TV history, I am sure many women ( incl me ) would love to have this hunk of a psycho as a boyfriend ... :)But since he is labelled "bad guy" in the show what are the chances of him getting a good date ? Not so good I'd think ! Most women won't date a serial killer ... so hence I made a Personal Ad for Sylar. ! Show off all his good qualities ... and all the qualities that would make women go "awwww" and make Sylar quite the marriage material man * ahem*.
I must say, this is one of my most popular video. It didn't take me long to find the song, as soon as I heard it I knew what kind of vid I wanted to make.

Heroes for Hire

I know what you're thinking as soon as you saw X-men Origins : Wolverine... "Gee... I would def. love to see more of Stryker's mercenaries !" I know, I had the same thought. As soon as I saw the mercenaries, I knew I wanted to make a music video, but I procrastinated ... time dragged on, I made other music vids...not entirely forgetting about it cause it was always at the back of my head that I really have to find the perfect music and make a vid based on Stryker's mercs... then finally one day I was watching Inglorious Basterds and as soon as I heard the music, everything fell into place. I knew how I wanted to make the tribute. I wanted to give the music vid an 80's "Stephen J. Cannell"'s intro. If you look at most Stephen J. Cannell's productions, almost all of his intros are they same, they are all quite dynamic. So, hence ...
So finally I made that tribute. I"m glad I made it ... I added the text at the end as a small light humor.
If you have seen the vid, then you must have noticed that one of the mercs is missing, why ? Well... let's just say, I wasn't impressed by his abilities.
I wonder what it would be like to have an entire movie made based on Stryker's mercenaries. ? I know I"ll def. watch it !

Tales of Wade Wilson

If you have seen my Gone with the Wade : Tales of Wade Wilson trilogy, then you'd probably wonder what inspired me to make those vids. Let me first say that I only intended to make 1 Gone With the Wade video. ( due to popular demand ... I ended up making a trilogy) Why did I make this trilogy ? Well... first and foremost, it was when I found out that (according to rumors) several months ago that Ryan Reynolds might have to drop out of one role in order to play another, if you're not a comic fan .. then let me enlighten you ... summer 2011 will be awesome cause there will be 2 movies gunning for the summer blockbuster title. The Green Lantern ( Hal Jordan ) and X-men Origins : Deadpool. Guess what, both characters will be played by Ryan Reynolds. Woo hoo ... right ?? Fantastically orgasmic ! Imagine my joy when I found out ! .. anyway ....problem is .. Green Lantern is DC Comic and Deadpool is Marvel ... So .. for several weeks after that I was basically campaigning for TEAM WADE ... I really want to see Ryan as Deadpool. Later I decided to watch X-men Origins : Wolverine again, then it hit me ... so far, all these years, Wolverine has been the uber mutant ... the one that everyone love. Perhaps ... maybe ...possibly his time is UP ? So hence, I made Gone With the Wade : Tales of Wade Wilson as a not-so-subtle way of saying "Move over Wolverine .. you're old news ! It's time for Wade Wilson to show what he's got !"

World's luckiest dog

Funny story behind making this video, it was one of my ( many) final goodbyes to my old editing program Sony Vegas Pro. And I had just seen yet another movie a featuring the hunky Ryan Reynolds,I thought the dog was so cute that he deserved to be mentioned. But why 'world's luckiest ?'? Heck! Ryan Reynolds kissed him ! well in a nutshell I finished the whole edit in 8 hours. Slept at 3am but had to wake up the same morning at 6am since I was supposed to fly to Geneva! Got up at 6am got to the airport by 10am just to find out my flight had been cancelled due to heavy snowstorm ! :(
